12/17 HOLIDAY COLORS DANCE
Holiday colors were prevalent at the 12/17 Holiday Colors Dance. One guest, Five students, and 21 club members celebrated this holiday event. The middle photo shows the five students along with club instructor Dan Grimes. There was a 15 minute caroling session at the end of the dance. Margaret Tucker won the door prize drawing and Bill Martin won the 50/50 drawing.
ADOPT A FAMILY FOR THE HOLIDAYS UPDATE (12/20/21)
12/20/21 is the delivery day to the Hillcrest Elementary School coordinator for ultimate delivery to our adoptive family. The collection of gifts and gift cards are ready to go. Once again, thanks to the many generous and caring people who purchased the requested items.
12/3/21 ROCK & ROLL DANCE
It was a very busy night on Friday December 3rd at the Rock & Roll dance. In addition to the regular club stuff, we were entertained by a contingent from WASCA who brought items for purchase and talked about the WASCA Festival in March 2022. Marjorie Barber won the 50/50 drawing. Bonnie Pollack won the Webmaster's Trivia Contest #4 and received a gift card to Subway. Sheila Covert won the door prize.

11/19/21 WE ARE THANKFUL DANCE
A plethora of items for the local food bank were donated by the club members at the We Are Thankful dance on 11/19/21. Thanks to all of the donors.
FRIDAY 11/5/21 SALUTE TO VETERANS DANCE
American flags, photos and letters of commendation were on display at the Mt. Pleasant Ruritan Club for the Salute to Veterans Dance on Friday November 5th. Three squares of members and guests enjoyed the patriotism and the military singing calls from Club Caller Mike McIntyre.

10/15/21 TOM THUMB BANNER STEAL
It has been a long time since an FCP banner steal on foreign turf. The FCP Masked Merry Marauders stole the treasured banner of the Tom Thumb Squares on Friday October 15th.
The Merry Masked Marauders included Marjorie Barber, Robert Abdinoor, Ray and Linda Everett, Alex and Jan Dommerich, Jackie Armistead, Andrea Smith, Mike McKee, Pamela Beale, Debora Pinkney and Bonnie Rohr.

SUNDAY 10/10/21 HALLOWEEN DANCE

Halloween fever was rampant at the Promenaders Halloween Dance on Sunday October 10th. Twenty-two club members welcomed 13 guests to this spooky holiday extravaganza. One guest and two club members were awarded for their costumes. Above, pictured from left to right are: Jim Powell (guest) as an "Escapee From A Mental Institution", Jan Dommerich as the Halloween "Pumpkin Wizard", and Ray Everett as "Clark Griswald the The Alpine Terror From the European Vacation Movie". Another award recipient was Andrea Smith who was awarded with her Starbuck's Gift card prize for winning the "Our Webmaster" Trivia Contest #2. The awards were donated to the club by Club Webmaster Donald Barber and Club President Marjorie Barber.

FRIDAY 10/1/21 WILD WEST DANCE
There was Law & Order western style at the Promenaders Wild West Dance on Friday October 1, 2021. A special guest, Marshall Wyatt Earp (Ray Everett), was invited to keep things "All Quiet on the Western Front" at the Ruritan Corral. Four new members and seven guest visitors joined twenty club members. Guest Caller Art LaVigne provided the hootin' and hollerin'. Andrea Smith was announced as the winner of the Webmaster's Trivia Contest #2.
FRIDAY 9/17/21 FALL COLORS DANCE

During the square dance on September 17th a line dance broke out to the calls of Club Caller Mike McIntyre. Twenty-four club members welcomed a new club member and 3 guests. The club also hoisted its banner on the newly donated banner stand that replaced the rather large and heavy previously used one. Andrea Smith accepted her award for winning the Webmaster's first trivia contest.

Sunday 9/5/21 WELCOME BACK DANCE
Club Caller Mike McIntyre along with Club President Marjorie Barber and Vice President Debora Pinckney, welcomed back 23 members and greeted 13 guest visitors to the Welcome Back (Black, Gold & White) Labor Day Weekend dance on Sunday 9/5/21. Registration duties were ably handled by Club Webmaster Donald Barber, Club Treasurer Ron Welke, and 50/50 Raffle Coordinator Cheryl Welke. Now it is on to the next event and all events thereafter.

BAKER PARK DEMO - 8/29/21

Led by Club Caller Mike McIntyre, two squares of Promenaders and guests performed a square dance demonstration before the final Frederick City Sunday Concerts in Baker Park. This annual event is used to not only showcase square dancing in Frederick County but to also recruit new students for our upcoming Square Dance Lessons program starting in mid-September.

Burkittsville Ruritan Club Demo August 14, 2021

Two squares of Promenaders along with Caller Dan Grimes paid a visit to the Burkittsville Ruritan Club's Peach Festival on 8/14/21 for a square dance demonstration. A popular attraction at the festival was the dessert table with a plethora of goodies including Peach Cobbler. To sum the visit into 2 words, "Everything Was Peachy Keen".
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 11 SUMMER DANCE

There was room to spare at the next to last Wednesday Summer Dance as two squares of Promenaders and guests danced to the calls of co-callers Dan Grimes and Robert Abdinoor. The major concentration of the Summer program is to rehash the 38 PLUS calls in preparation for the regular club square dances that begin on September 5th.

FREDERICK KEYS OUTING JULY 30, 2021
A pleasant summer night was enjoyed by 16 Promenaders with 7 family members and friends. The noshing of chicken and fries baskets, batting helmets filled with popcorn, Dippin' Dots ice cream, and beer and soda gulping, was supplemented by 5 home runs, a Keys win, and the usual dazzling fireworks display. One sad note is that no one in the group (yes, even Jim Schneck), won the 50/50 raffle.
fred hockenberry memorial/tribute dance - 7/23/21
ORGANIZED BY DAN GRIMES AND PEGGY NICODEMUS, SIX SQUARES PLUS OF PROMENADERS, GAD-ABOUTS, AND OTHER VISITORS AND GUESTS GOT TOGETHER IN THE FIT ROOM IN HAGERSTOWN TO MEMORIALIZE AND PAY TRIBUTE TO THE LATE FRED HOCKENBERRY. DONATIONS OF OVER $1,000 FROM THE DANCE WERE GIVEN TO THE HOSPICE THAT TOOK CARE OF FRED IN HIS FINAL DAYS.

Five+ squares of Promenaders and guest visitors danced to the calls of Dan Grimes and Robert Abdinoor. After the long pandemic hiatus, the dancers are picking up where they left off last year, I believe the Zoom sessions helped tremendously during the layoff.
