march 20 - March Madness dance

The March Madness Dance, that was relocated to the Ballenger Community Center, had 32 Club Members welcoming 9 Guest Visitors to the current stomping grounds of the Promenader's Dance Class. The center ably accommodated the 5 squares with some room to spare. The Guest Caller was the well-known Terry Headlee. Terry is seen leading the line dancing.

march 18 - dance class

Sixteen Angels supported 5 students at PLUS class #6. Two new calls were introduced by Club Instructor Dan "The Maestro" Grimes. To date the students have been taught 14 of the 36 PLUS calls.

march 1 - pajama party dance

Twenty-two Guest Visitors and 30 Promenaders formed 6 squares at the Pajama Party Dance on March 1st.
Nine of the Guest Visitors, pictured above, were from the Village Swingers, who had evil intentions at this dance. They stole our travel banner before they left and high-tailed it down 270. Our sneaky Club President is already planning a secret mission to recover our prize possesion. |

february 28 - calvary united methodist demo

The Promenaders were asked to perform a demo on February 28th for the "Country Western Hoe Down" at the Calvary United Methodist Church in downtown Frederick. Nineteen Promenaders led by the Club President attended this great event. A nice bonus at this event was a luscious pot luck dinner featuring a "Pretzel Jello" dessert provided by the hosts. After the usual demo by 2 squares of Promenaders, a horde of church members and visitors joined the Promenaders for a 7 square hoe down.
february 1 - super chili dance

It was a ChiliFest Supreme at the Super Bowl Chili dance on Sunday February 1st. The aroma from 7 crockpots filled the air inside the MPRC. There were 3 tables of chili pots and associated condiments along with a table of desserts. Added to the mix was the superb calling of Gest Caller Terry Headlee. The Club welcomed 19 Guests including 2 Guest Students. A Special Thank You goes out to Promenader Lois Roney who was the chief coordinator of this delicious event.
january 16 - NEON dance

Was it the NEON aura of the lights on Broadway in NYC?
No, but it certainly fit the bill for our Neon Dance on January 16th at the MPRC in Walkersville, MD. Seventeen visitors, and club members and students sported NEON attire, mostly glow sticks worn around their necks. The dance also celebrated the 90th birthday of long-time club member Jerry Pollock. The calls were ably conducted by Club Caller Mike "Mr. Broadway" McIntyre. |
january 4 - new years dance

It was an SRO crowd of New Years revelers as six + squares of Promenaders, Students, and Guest Visitors attended the New Years Dance on Sunday afternoon January 4th. The Guest Caller was Dayle Hodge and the Guest Cuers were Butch Bloxom and Roberta Harris. In addition to the usual Cuer led round dancing there was old-fashioned sock-hop dancing led by the Cuers.
january 11 - student dance - Catonsville MD

On January 11th, Dance Class Coordinator Andrea S along with Promenaders Sandy B, Mike S, Ray E, Andrew P, and Leah B, accompanied by current class students Fred and Barbara B, traveled down I-70 East to Catonsville MD for the student dance. Fred and Barbara carried with them their perfect attendance in the Mainstream Class.
